Hungary’s largest battery energy storage project, developed by Greenvolt Power, recently began operations. BYD Energy Storage supplied a 288.6 MWh Cube battery energy storage system for the project. András Tóth, Hungary’s State Secretary for Energy, and others attended the commissioning ceremony.
With a capacity of 99.8 MW/288.6 MWh, the project will significantly enhance the local grid’s regulation capabilities and power supply reliability upon commissioning. It will facilitate the large-scale grid integration of renewable energy in Hungary and Central and Eastern Europe, accelerating the green transition of the local energy structure.
